Women and Wheels is a motoring website written by women for women.

The website provides straightforward and practical advice and information about motoring. Realising anything to do with cars is usually written by men for men, Women and Wheels offers a refreshingly new approach to motoring, using plain language and down-to-earth opinions.

Being written by women we’re in the know. We are constantly hearing what women want through chats in the school playground, workplace and at the gym. Our features and car reviews are rich in content and style.

We aim to make the The Women and Wheels website a rich multimedia experience, with each online review accompanied by video footage. We use professional photography throughout the site and try to keep the use of press shots to a minimum, giving us a powerful, high-quality identity.

Women and Wheels taps into the huge spending power and influence women have. From buying presents for partners to choosing which car the family buys or which car they want to be seen in as a women about town. This influence extends to all the “nice-to-haves” that make a journey in a car more enjoyable, quieter and therefore safer, especially if travelling with a car load of kids.

We’re aiming to de-mystify the areas of car ownership that a lot of women find intimidating – providing practical information on a range of subjects from new cars to car insurance, maintenance, buying and selling tips, safety and much, much more – even gossip!

Meet the Team

Kate Kembery

Kate Kembery - Frantic mother of three, busy making cup cakes, organising fund-raisers at school and occasionally going to work as a community nurse and when there’s time, losing myself by driving lovely cars hoping one day I’ll be able to afford something other than my unstylish people-carrier.

In a former life I wrote for a nursing journal but missed doing what I was writing about. Now I drive cars and write about what I’m doing, which is far more fun.

Debby Tan

Debby Tan - Not quite as frantic with only two of the little blighters to cherish, I work part-time in a fashion business and spent a previous life involved in ancient Chinese Art.

Not at all intererested in cars, I make sure we don’t get carried away with turbochargers and boys talk, heaven forbid. I keep the business on the straight and narrow pushing paperwork around.

Paul Harmer

Paul Harmer – A photographer by trade, I build and maintain the Women and Wheels website and make the videos. Buying Krispy Kremes and explaining how turbos work comes as part of the package.

Other than that I specialise in keeping a low profile.

John Kembery

John Kembery - With a background in business and IT services I provide the child-sitting services while the girls go out driving (well someone’s got to do it). I offer advice and support (often ignored) and am the serious one, providing the backup services so the girls can get on with the fun stuff of driving, experiencing, commenting and writing about cars for women and wheels.
